Embark on a unique coffee journey with our limited edition Huay Mae Liem coffee—a true testament to the artistry of nature and the dedication of the Lahu/Yao villagers in the heart of Thailand's main growing region.
About Huay Mae Liem Village
Nestled at an elevation of 1200 meters in the Chiang Rai region, Huay Mae Liem is not just a village; it's a testament to resilience and a heritage that traces back 80 years to Burma and China. With a population of 10 families, this Lahu/Yao community has been working hand in hand with us at Lanna Coffee for two decades, cultivating a deep connection with the land and its treasures.
What Makes this Coffee Unique
The Huay Mae Liem coffee is a result of 25 years of careful cultivation. What sets it apart is the pristine natural environment. The thick forest canopy provides an ideal shade for the coffee plants, eliminating the need for irrigation. The soil, enriched with organic matter from the forest, and a natural mulch of decomposing leaves contribute to the coffee's unique flavor profile.
The Nordic Roast
Our commitment to excellence extends to our roasting process. Huay Mae Liem undergoes a Nordic roast, a technique that highlights the beans' delicate nuances. This light roast accentuates the silky body of the coffee, ensuring a nuanced drinking experience.
Savor the journey with every sip. This light roast unfolds with tasting notes of juicy pear and dried mango, complemented by a subtle caramel sweetness. The mellow acidity, reminiscent of dark chocolate, dances on your palate, leading to a hazelnut finish that lingers—a symphony of flavors captured in a cup.
